Both my husband and I were out sick last week. It wasn’t just any cold, but one that had me on the couch all day long. I’m back on the job, thanks to Sophie, my nurse.

Whenever I felt restless and tried to do some computer work, there was Sophie, beckoning me back to the couch. She was insistent that I rest. This happened several times. I’m sure she knew. I was miserable and needed to put my feet up. Forget everything else. TCM had a great slate of movies scheduled.

Now I want to reward the nurse. I surfed for some discount pet supplies online. I could get her some new toys. Maybe an Attract-O-Mat Tunnel or Atomic Bouncing balls. I say one think about Sophie; she’s very smart. Once she figured out the laser pointer was fake, she lost interest. To keep her amused, I rotate her toys–or get new ones.

I suppose the key with her in the interactivity. That’s why she likes her CET cat chews so well. She loves playing fetch with the chew before she devours it. For her special treat, perhaps some grooming supplies. A cat brush or deshedding comb would be good. Can’t get much more interactive than that.

I browsed around a little more on the discount pet supplies store. Maybe a cat scratching post. She never could have enough of those. Of course, there’s always catnip. In the end, it was a catnip garden, something that would last and that she would enjoy. Anything for my little nurse.
