Love Is In the Air

As Valentine’s Day approaches, I’m reminded of romantic Valentine’s Day ideas and what the day will bring.  I think Chris and Norm do it right.

The best celebrations are right at home.  Chris prepares their traditional romantic dinner of lobster medallions with a champagne dill sauce.  I don’t know much about the sauce, but the lobster smells so fabulous.

She decorates the table with a red table cloth.  The fine china and crystal come out of the living room cabinet for the occasion.  There’s also champagne.  Norm will bring home flowers, roses of course.  The only thing missing is the rose petal path to the dinner table.  The house is so cheery.  You can feel the love in the air.  That’s what makes me feel so lucky being here.

Then, the candles will be lit.  Just candlelight, nothing else.  I love the shadows dancing on the walls.  Then comes dinner.  Chris will make another Valentine’s Day tradition–an appetizer of oysters Rockefeller.  All this seafood!  Enough to drive a cat bonkers!

The champagne is opened and poured.  There are romantic toasts, maybe a few tears.  Dinner will follow.  Last year, I was treated to a bit of lobster.  I’m certainly hoping for that this year.

Dinner will end with a creme’ brulee.  Yes, they certainly do Valentine’s Day right at this house.  I’m so lucky to be here.
