June is a special month for Sophie. It is Adopt-A-Cat Month. Being a rescue herself, Sophie was our opportunity to adopt a cat. She has been a joy ever since.
I found Sophie on PetFinder.org. The website pulls together information about pets available for adoption across the entire country. Sophie was at a vet clinic about two hours from my home. When I got to the clinic, a receptionist put us in a room together. She remarked right away how Sophie couldn’t take her eyes off me. Neither could I. It was love at first sight for the two of us.
Chances are if you’re reading this blog, you know the value and importance of pets in our lives. They bring joy and companionship as well as physical benefits. The relationship you have with a cat is different than that of a dog. Perhaps it’s because cats are closer to their wild nature. Or maybe it’s because they are independent. They form relationships.
So many pets need homes. June reminds us that cats are the purr-fect pet.
