A big M-E-O-W to you! Nice to see you again!
Sophie is unique among the pets that I’ve had because of how much she communicates. I’ve learned her different vocalizations for feed me, I’m going to get that squirrel, and leave me alone. More than any other cat I’ve had, she has a way of letting her feelings be known.
She has a special vocalization too, when we’ve returned after being away awhile. That Sophie, she lets me know in no uncertain terms her feelings about us daring to take a vacation. It usually lasts a week afterwards. She is very needy. She wants to be held. She cries for what seems like no reason. She just has a lot to say.
Maybe you can relate. Sophie will go into a different room, one in which no one is in. Then, she’ll cry. I’ll find her crying at the wall or nothing at all. Unfortunately, I’ve trained her. I’ve trained her that this is one way to get attention. She’ll cry and I’ll respond. The other day, I was busy with work. Two clients all of a sudden were clammering for my attention at Sophie’s designated hour for attention.
At first, I was annoyed. Didn’t she know that I had two potential clients? Didn’t she know that I was busy? No, all she knew was that she wanted my undivided attention. I finished up my work and found my Sophie, waiting for me on the couch. It was about time that I listed to my cat.

Much to Sophie’s delight, we are back from our vacation. We had a marvelous time. According to the pet sitter, Sophie did well too. She received plenty of attention and was fed regularly. What more can a cat want? She’s not a super traveler, so a 7-hour car trip was out. I’m not entirely sure how she would take to flying. So, she stayed home.
Sophie can be a needy cat. She was a rescue, after all. She’s a bit predictable after a vacation. Like most cats, she hates a disruption to her routine. She likes her meals at a set time. She wants me on the couch to cuddle at the designated time. So, when we returned, she had a lot to say.
Perhaps your own pet is like Sophie. I’m not sure if it’s her history or what, but it takes her awhile to ease back into her routine. She is more needy than ever for the first few days. She wants to be held a great deal. Maybe this sounds familiar to you too. To help her transition back to having you around again, take the time to bond again with your pet. Spend extra time combing or brushing your pet. Extra cuddle time is also appreciated.
While we realize our trip is short, it can be interpreted differently by your pet. Making up the lost time can be a great bonding experience for you and your pet.

We pet owners all want the same thing–healthy, happy pets. We want to provide them with the best of care in return for the happiness they give us. For many of us, we couldn’t imagine life without a pet, or more specifically with our pet. I’m that way too with my Sophie.
While these economic times pressure us otherwise, there are other avenues to buy pet medication. One such site is Tails R’ Wagging. Medications like Frontline and Avantix are available. With the rising rates of tick-borne diseases, using Frontline is wise way to protect your pet. Ticks are everyone. Even if your pet is strictly indoors or just walks in the yard, you still are outside. Wildife can still come into the yard. Rather than risking exposure and rather difficult treatment, prevention is the best medicine.
If you happen to be in the need of a friend for your pet, there’s a puppy for you. You can find sweeties such as Cavoodles for sale. There’s nothing more enjoyable than a new friend in the house to liven up your home.
Pets bring such joy in our lives. Sharing and caring are a part of being a pet owner. Likewise, pet ownership is a responsibility. Consider your options carefully and make sure and provide your little the best of care.
